Where our true treasure lies

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Mateus 6:21NVI
In this passage from the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus invites us to reflect deeply on our priorities and motivations. The 'treasure' mentioned isn't limited to material goods; it encompasses everything we value above all else. He establishes a direct link between what we cherish and where our affections lead us.

In Christian practice, this means our feelings and actions are naturally drawn to what we consider precious. If we seek only to accumulate temporary riches, our hearts will be trapped by the anxieties of this world. However, by investing in eternal values, our inner selves find peace and purpose.

To apply this principle today, look at your routine and see where you invest your time, energy, and resources. When we prioritize the Kingdom of God and love for others, we align our hearts with the divine will, ensuring a joy that doesn't depend on external circumstances.
