The power of meekness in the Kingdom

In this portion of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus presents a logic that is the reverse of the world's. While society values aggressiveness and self-assertion, the Master teaches that true strength lies in meekness. Being meek does not mean being weak, but rather having power under control and a heart submissive to God's will. The promise to inherit the earth indicates that those who trust the Lord and act with gentleness will receive divine provision and stability. Meekness is a fruit of the Spirit that allows us to react with patience in the face of adversity, trusting that final justice belongs to God and not to our own hands. In practice, living this verse means cultivating a teachable spirit and a peaceful posture in our relationships. By letting go of pride and the need to always be right, we make room for the peace of Christ to rule our lives and bless those around us.
