The Essence and Presence of Divine Love
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
This verse summarizes God's identity and the foundation of our faith. John shows us that love is not just one of God's attributes, but His very essence. To know God is, fundamentally, to experience and trust the depth of this sacrificial love He demonstrated through Christ.
Abiding in love means living in a constant state of communion with the Father, allowing this feeling to guide our actions and thoughts. It's not a fleeting emotion, but a daily decision to dwell in the Creator's presence and reflect His goodness toward others.
In practice, relying on God's love frees us from fear and insecurity. When we understand that we are loved unconditionally, we gain the strength to face life's challenges, knowing that He who is Love itself dwells within us and we in Him.
