The Confidence of Children Before their Father

and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
1 João 3:22NVI
This verse highlights the intimate connection between our communion with God and the effectiveness of our prayer life. John teaches us that confidence in asking does not spring from selfish desire, but from a heart seeking to be in tune with the Creator's will. When we align our actions with biblical commandments, our petitions begin to reflect the values of the Kingdom. The obedience mentioned here should not be seen as a burden or a bargaining chip to obtain favors, but rather as a response of love. Those who love God desire to please Him, and this desire transforms our mindset, leading us to seek what He already delights in granting us. In practice, this calls us to constant self-examination: is what I am asking for today in harmony with love for others and faithfulness to God? As we cultivate an obedient heart, we enjoy the promise that the Father hears and answers His children, supplying every need according to His perfect wisdom.
