The love that makes God visible
“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”
This verse presents one of the most beautiful mysteries of the Christian faith: the manifestation of the divine presence through our relationships. Although God is spirit and we cannot see Him physically, His essence becomes tangible when we choose to love others. It is as if our actions serve as a mirror for the Creator's glory.
The practice of mutual love is not just a commandment, but evidence that God dwells within us. When we cultivate patience, forgiveness, and kindness, we are allowing God’s character to flow through us to the world around us.
In practice, this means that every gesture of solidarity and every word of encouragement completes the purpose of God’s love in us. We don’t seek perfection alone, but allow the Holy Spirit to perfect us as we open ourselves to love those He has placed in our path.
