Righteousness Through Faith
“For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: 'The righteous will live by faith.'”
This verse is the heart of the book of Romans and one of the pillars of the Protestant Reformation. Paul teaches us that God's righteousness is not something we earn through our own merit, but a gift revealed and received exclusively through faith in Jesus Christ.
In practice, this means we don't have to live under the weight of perfectionism or the fear of not being good enough. The Christian life begins and is maintained by trusting in God's work, not in our human efforts to achieve perfection.
By understanding that 'the righteous will live by faith,' we are set free to walk with lightness and gratitude. This faith is not just an intellectual belief, but a daily dependence that transforms our character and motivates us to live with integrity and love.
