God's limitless power at work within us
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us”
This verse concludes one of the Apostle Paul's most profound prayers, revealing that God's generosity knows no limits. Often, our prayers are small compared to the greatness of what He desires to accomplish. The promise here is not about selfish desires, but about the transformative work of the Spirit in our lives and community.
The term 'immeasurably more' suggests that even at the peak of our imagination and faith, we still haven't reached the fullness of what the Lord can do. This power doesn't just come from the outside, but works 'within us,' enabling us to live holily and fulfill divine purpose through the Church.
In practice, this invites us to rest in God's sovereignty and dare to dream for His glory. When we feel limited or without resources, we must remember that the Creator of the universe is working inside us, exceeding any and all human expectations.
