Seeking the Kingdom of God

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Colossenses 3:1NVI
This verse marks a powerful transition in the letter to the Colossians. Paul reminds us that our identity has changed: through faith in Christ, our old nature died and we were raised to a new spiritual life. This resurrection is not just a future promise, but a present reality that should shape our thoughts. Seeking things above does not mean ignoring our earthly responsibilities, but rather prioritizing eternal values in everything we do. It means aligning our desires, motivations, and actions with God's will, living with an eternal perspective in everyday life. In practice, this translates into cultivating virtues such as love, patience, and integrity. When we focus on where Christ is, the worries and temptations of this world lose their grip on us, allowing God's peace to rule our hearts and our daily decisions.
