The Power to Witness

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Atos 1:8NVI
This verse records one of Jesus' final promises before His ascension. He assures His followers that they would not be alone or rely on their own strength to fulfill the mission. The 'power' mentioned here comes directly from the Holy Spirit, enabling Christians to live and speak of God's love impactfully. Jesus' promise establishes a gradual expansion of the Gospel, starting where we are (Jerusalem) and reaching distant places. Being a witness is not just about preaching, but about reflecting Christ's character in all spheres of life, from family to professional settings. In practice, Acts 1:8 calls us to trust in divine empowerment to overcome fears and limitations. When we surrender to the Holy Spirit, our lives become a channel of hope for the world, spreading the message of salvation authentically and courageously.
