The Faithfulness of Divine Promises
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
This verse from Paul to the Corinthians is a powerful statement about the centrality of Christ in God's redemptive plan. It assures us that God does not go back on His word. All the promises made in the Old Testament and the hopes of the human heart find their confirmation and definitive fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus.
In practice, this means we do not need to live in doubt about God's intentions for us. When we pray and say Amen, we are agreeing with God's faithfulness which was already demonstrated at the cross and the resurrection. Jesus is the living proof that God fulfills what He says.
For our daily life, this truth brings security and emotional stability. Even when the circumstances around us seem uncertain, we can rest in the certainty that the final word over our lives is God's "Yes" in Christ, motivating us to live for His glory.
