The Faithfulness of the God Who Calls Us

The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
1 Tessalonicenses 5:24NVI
This verse is found within the apostle Paul's final instructions to the Thessalonian church. After listing various practical exhortations — such as praying without ceasing and not quenching the Spirit — Paul offers a deeply comforting word. He reminds us that our sanctification and perseverance do not depend exclusively on our human effort, but on the faithfulness of the One who chose us. The Christian principle here is security in grace. The One who began a good work in your life has the power and commitment to complete it. When we feel weak or unable to meet divine standards, we should look to God's character. He not only calls; He empowers and sustains the process until the end. Practically, this means you can rest in the Lord's care as you walk with Him. God's faithfulness is the guarantee that the promises made to your life will not fail because of your limitations, for the strength to overcome comes from God Himself who invited you to a new life.
