True Peace That Surpasses Understanding

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
João 14:27NVI
In this crucial moment, Jesus is preparing His disciples for His departure, offering them a legacy that no money could buy: His peace. Unlike the world's peace, which depends on favorable circumstances and the absence of conflict, the peace of Christ is an inner anchor that remains firm even in the midst of life's storms. This promise reveals that Christian tranquility is not the denial of problems, but confidence in God's constant presence. Jesus knew that fear would try to paralyze His followers, so He emphasizes that the origin of this peace is divine and personal, acting as an antidote to anxiety and a troubled heart. In practice, living John 14:27 means deciding not to let fear govern our choices. When you feel overwhelmed, remember that Jesus has already placed a reserve of supernatural calm within you. Simply seek Him in prayer and allow that peace to guard your thoughts and feelings in any situation.
