Peace and Confidence in Christ

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.
João 14:1NVI
In this chapter, Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure, offering words of profound comfort. The context is one of farewell and uncertainty, but the Lord redirects the disciples' focus from external circumstances to the internal security that comes from faith. He doesn't ignore the pain, but provides a solid foundation for emotional stability. Having faith in Jesus means trusting that He is in control, even when the path seems uncertain. The command 'do not be troubled' is an active invitation to cast our anxiety before the Father, recognizing that God's presence is the definitive remedy for fear and anguish. In practice, this verse teaches us to exercise daily trust. When the heart starts racing with worries, we must remember Christ's authority. Christian peace is not the absence of problems, but the constant presence of God in the midst of them.
