The Importance of Remaining in Christ

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
João 15:7NVI
Remaining in Jesus is more than a Sunday visit; it's establishing residence in Him. When we allow His words to guide our thoughts, our will naturally aligns with God's will. It's a relationship of mutual dependence, like a branch needing the vine to receive sap and life. This verse holds a powerful promise about answered prayer, but it's conditioned on fellowship. Asking 'whatever you wish' isn't a free pass for selfish desires, but the result of a heart so close to the Master that it desires what He desires. Prayer becomes a dialogue of love and purpose. In practice, this abiding happens through constant reading of Scripture and sincere prayer. By cultivating this intimacy, we find our petitions change, becoming more focused on God's glory and the good of others, resulting in fruit that glorifies the Father and brings full joy to our Christian walk.
